System  No feedback

This is a waltz by Lollo Meier, a Dutch Gypsy guitarist in the style of Django Reinhardt known for his beautiful compositions. This one is called "Schtrimpa Waltz". It was taught to me by the French guitarist Adrien Marco.
This is the second prototype microphone/preamp system designed by Patrick Inghilleri from Marseille, France. It was sent to me for evaluation.
It is by far the best amplification system that I've tried for Gypsy Jazz guitars (so far). It has the sound of a condenser microphone, but it does not require phantom power. Therefore, the system will work on any guitar amplifier. The microphone itself has 3 cells, 2 on top to capture the sound of the strings, and another at the bottom to cancel feedback.
In this experiment, I have recorded using two systems: the Inghilleri mic/preamp combo and a Gefell M930 microphone (over 1000$). It is very important to note that the aim of this particular test was to show that the Inghilleri system isolates outside noise better than the Gefell microphone, especially the bass frequencies; this is exactly what we need for live situations where feedback can occur due to excess outside noise. Furthermore, it is important to note that the room in which I recorded is not acoustically treated and therefore does not show the true potential of the Gefell microphone. And yet, furthermore, notice that I am not using any headphones for recording, the backing track/metronome is coming straight from the studio monitors which are cranked up. In the isolated tracks at the end of the video, you hear just how well the Inghilleri cuts outside noise compared to the Gefell. In the Gefell video, you even hear me counting at the beginning.
I have tested this system at an outdoor gig recently, and was able to crank the volume on my AER amplifier without getting any feedback. I only got feedback when i turned to face the amplifier to change the settings.
This second prototype model is a simplified version of the previous one. There is only an in for the mic, 2 outs (XLR and 1/4inch), battery, and AC adapter, 5 band EQ and volume control.
I am recording direct to my interface (Fireface 800). The gain for both the Inghilleri mic and the Gefell are about the same. The settings on the Inghilleri preamp are flat. In the video, you can hear more high end than the Gefell, however, with careful manipulation of the graphic EQ, I'm sure you can smoothen the tone.
Nothing else is added in post production except a touch of reverb. The sound was not altered in any way, so you hear the tone as is.
